Big ´ol Blue,
I took on Blue in October 2001 from the Siberian Husky Club of Great Britain´s welfare scheme. He had been placed in this scheme once he had reached nearly four years old and became too much for his previous owners. I feel extremely lucky to have been able to give this boy a home and after some minor issues he settled in no problem.

Blue was initially placed in a pet environment but I guess his working instincts took over because although he had never even seen a harness he took to it right away from the word go, you could almost see the relief in him as he thought, YES, FINALLY!.

I found that the best way to keep him calm(ish) is to get him out working as much as possible, I really can´t imagine living with him and not getting his harness out as he gets too hyper zooming about the place otherwise.

It is my understanding that he wasn´t one of those cases where he had been abused, it was just a case of having a working dog not getting the chance of doing what he loves and instinctively knows.

As one would expect from re-homing an adult dog, he did have some minor issues, like constantly whining when he didn´t get what he wanted, or when out on the trail he would try to boss another team about, only to have them turn on him! Thankfully these issues have been ironed out and on the trail he now rarely even looks at the other teams. He still gives a good nasal whine though!
All that said, he is the best house trained dog we have and wouldn´t think to destroy anything, he is also very affectionate & loving.
